About Us
Welcome to the website of the South County Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 1828. We are the labor organization that represents the 250+ career Fire Fighters, Fire Fighter/Paramedics, Company Officers, and Shift Supervisors that work from 14 fire stations located throughout Southwest Snohomish County. Additionally our members donate their off duty time with Honor Guard duties, Fire 1 Foundation, other charity benefits such as community events, and MDA Fill the Boot. Our members routinely collect tens of thousands of dollars in donations for MDA and always set high marks in Washington State. Our members also participate in the annual Columbia Center Tower Climb in Seattle. Fire fighters from across the nation and world gather to compete for the best time ascending 69 floors of Seattle's tallest building while wearing full fire fighting gear and breathing apparatus, which averages 75 pounds of additional weight. The proceeds from the tower climb benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. South County Fire Fighters are active members of the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters, the Washington State Labor Council, and the Snohomish Co. Labor Council. Our members regularly support the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
